DVBIC provides a variety of educational materials free of charge for service members, veterans, health care providers and family members. We provide materials specifically focused on mild, moderate, or severe TBIs. Many DVBIC materials are available as PDFs, which can be downloaded. Hard copies are available and can be ordered through the shopping cart on this website. All hard copies are ordered in individual quantities, please specifiy desired quantity accordingly. Awareness and Prevention
Materials in this section include the signs and symptoms of TBI; coping and recovery tips; and information on how to avoid a traumatic brain injury.
Patient – Family Education
These materials are intended to help patients and their families learn more about TBIs and recovery. Some materials are intended for providers to personally review with patients, while others are appropriate for display in a waiting room area.
Clinical Education
DVBIC offers clinical tools for DoD and civilian providers. The purpose of these materials is to assist primary care providers with clinical guidance in assessing and treating service members and veterans who have sustained a TBI. These materials provide pertinent guidance and reference tools that all providers with TBI patients should have.
In-Theater
Most of these materials are directed toward military medical personnel for use in-theater. All of these tools provide essential education for service members about TBIs.
Family Caregiver Curriculum
These materials are focused on helping family caregivers of service members who sustained moderate, severe or penetrating TBIs. These materials are filled with information that families need on a daily basis.
