CAPT Carol L Konchan, USPHS, MSN, CRNP
Before being appointed DVBIC-Johnstown Site Director, United States Public Health Service (USPHS) CAPT Carol Konchan served as the Chief, Clinical Practice Guidelines Development in the TBI Clinical Standards of Care directorate for the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (DCoE).
CAPT Konchan is a certified family nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience in nursing. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland (Walter Reed Army Institute of Nursing) and her graduate degree as a family nurse practitioner from the State University of New York at StonyBrook. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Acadey of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to coming to DCoE, she worked at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. She has had previous assignments as a USPHS officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Health Resource and Services Administration and with the US Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
